Last week, we mentioned how there may had been some developments in the 17-year-old murder case of Sofia Vergara’s brother, Rafael. Well apparently the Modern Family star wasn’t too happy to hear that news and slammed the National Enquirer for originally printing the story.
The Enquirer claimed to have new leads on the murder case, linking Rafael with Colombian drug cartel leader Diego Leon Montoya Sanchez. But Sofia was quick to refute those rumors and the alleged “detective” who leaked the information.
“This is not news,” she vented on her Twitter page. “This is disrespectful. We don’t know who this idiot ‘detective’ is. We know everything we need to know about my brother’s death.”
Nevertheless, the story has built traction and offered a new theory as to why Rafael was targeted. According to the Enquirer detective, he had unknowingly gotten mixed up with Montoya Sanchez’ girlfriend. Wherever the truth lies, we’re happy to know that at least Sofia has found closure.
